Clomiphene is used to induce ovulation (egg production) in females who do not produce ova (eggs) but wish to become pregnant. How should I take this medicine? Clomiphene comes as a tablet to take by mouth. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take clomiphene exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
What side effects may I notice Although side effects from clomiphene are not common, they can occur. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away: * symptoms of menopause (hot flashes) * stomach pain * headache * upset stomach * vomiting If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately: * blurred vision * dizziness * lightheadedness
What drug(s) may interact with this medicine? Take this medicine only as directed by your doctor. If you are to begin on Day 5, count the first day of your menstrual period as Day 1. Beginning on Day 5, take the correct dose every day for as many days as your doctor ordered. To help you to remember to take your dose of medicine, take it at the same time every day.
What if I miss a dose? Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, call your doctor for additional directions. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
Where can I keep my medicine? Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed. Talk to your pharmacist about the proper disposal of your medication.
What should I avoid while taking Clomiphene? Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. Clomiphene may cause blurred vision or other visual side effects during or shortly after therapy. Notify your doctor immediately if you develop any visual side effects and use caution when performing hazardous activities, especially under conditions of variable lighting. |
